An individual charged with killing rapper Pop Smoke during an armed robbery at a Hollywood Hills mansion pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter on Thursday. Because he was a minor at the time of the incident, the judge has barred the public from using his name.
Additionally, the 20-year-old, who was 17 when the killing occurred, admitted to committing a home invasion robbery in Inglewood juvenile court. The resulting sentence was four years and two months in a juvenile facility.
During a four-day trip to Los Angeles, Bashar Barakah Jackson, popularly known as Pop Smoke, a 20-year-old rapper from New York, was killed at a rented home he was staying at on Feb. 19, 2020. According to police, a friend of a person inside the rented house called 911 to report armed intruders.

According to police, the robbers found the address of the rapper because Pop Smoke had posted a photograph on social media a day earlier of a gift bag he had received, and the address was on a label inside the bag.

As part of the same case, Corey Walker and Keandre Rodgers, who were 19 and 18, respectively, at the time, as well as the teenager whose name is been withheld, were charged. Their crime is said to be, murder during a robbery and burglary.
