Forty-year-old Derrick Francis, the main suspect in the murder of Brianna Destiny McKoy, the daughter of veteran sound system selector Ricky Trooper, has been apprehended by the Bridgeport Police Department (BPD).
The BPD announced Francis' capture on Monday. Trooper has since shared the news of his arrest on his social media.
McKoy, a young mother, was found unresponsive after being fatally shot on April 6 at approximately 11:20 a.m. in her Connecticut condo in the United States. Her infant child was also found in the home and was declared unharmed.
Following the discovery of McKoy's body, the police launched a manhunt for Francis, declaring him armed and dangerous. Reports state that the 23-year-old and Francis were in a relationship.
According to the Connecticut Post, Francis was arrested in Ohio and will be extradited to Connecticut, where he is expected to be charged with McKoy's murder. Prior to McKoy's death, police had reportedly responded to incidents involving the couple. Francis' bond has been set at $3 million.
