As robberies on the island continue to escalate, it has been reported that an unnamed businesswoman has been robbed of $24 million. The incident took place in St. Catherine on Saturday, April 15, in Gutters Square at the Buds Service Station.
According to law enforcement, the business had just been opened for the day by the 80-year-old woman and another employee that was there at the time of the robbery, when a group of four men happened approached the establishment and forced their way into the building.
It was also reported that the men were armed, however, it is unclear if anyone was injured during the heist. The men wrapped up and absconded the scene in an awaiting car.
An investigation into the robbery has been launched by police.
