The Jamaica Constabulary Force made two arrests on Tuesday during operations that resulted in three guns and more than 30 rounds being seized. The arrested suspects include a Portmore musician, who was identified as Barrington Davis.
The 34-year-old musician, who also goes by Jah Sent, was arrested and charged with unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon and unauthorized possession of ammunition following a targeted raid at around 5:00 a.m. at a home in Wallen Avenue, Braeton, St. Catherine.
The operation resulted in the Portmore police discovering one 9mm Taurus pistol with ten 9mm cartridges.
The second suspect, whose identity was not disclosed, was arrested in Westmorland. The individual was arrested in connection with a 9mm pistol that had a magazine containing 16 cartridges and another magazine with five cartridges that were recovered from a house in Black Heath Road, Georges Plain.
In the post made to Instagram, the JCF reported that the Clarendon police also seized one .38 revolver containing six .38 cartridges during an operation in May Pen, but no arrest was made. The firearm was hidden in a white Merino inside a black bag on an open lot on Windsor Avenue.
The report's conclusion urged residents to contact their local police department or Crime Stoppers at 311 if they have knowledge of firearms, gunmen, or gangs.
