Dancehall Artiste Boom Dandimite Dies in the US

Boom Dandimite, Dancehall artiste and former member of the Scare Dem crew, reportedly died at a hospital in the United States earlier today. Born Herman Stewart, it was stated that the singer had a relapse during recovery after a car accident.

The entertainer was in a car accident in late April of this year that left him hospitalized at KPH (Kingston Public Hospital). Another artiste was also a part of the incident, Wilful Skilful, that took place on Half Way Tree Road. Wilful Skilful was discharged right away, while Boom Dandimite was released days after the crash.

Created back in the 1990s, Dandimite was a Scare Dem crew member along with Elephant Man, Nitty Kutchie, and Harry Toddler. Taking a hand in their rise to fame, Bounty Killer took them on tours to spread their name and give them experience on the Dancehall scene. From there, the crew gained popularity and made songs like Girls Everyday and Many Many.

According to information gained by Dancehall Mag, a recovering Dandimite travelled to the United States, however, upon disembarking the plane yesterday, he collapsed. He was taken to the hospital after he started foaming at the mouth but later passed away.

Additionally, the source stated, “The US doctors say he had blood clots, all sorts of complications, he had pneumonia, and the doctors also said that a lot of his medical issues were ignored wherever he was being treated in Jamaica.”

After hearing the news of Boom Dandimite’s death, Wilful Skilful said that he had heard from Bounty Killer that Boom had flown to the US only to wake up the following day to phone calls of his passing.
