Reggae Boy Leon Bailey made his first appearance for Aston Villa in the Champions League on Wednesday vs Bayern Munich, in a match that ended 1-0. The Jamaican did not start the match, he went on for the injured Jacob Ramsey in the 27th minute.
The first half of the match saw the German team dominating most of the possession of the ball, however, both teams were similar with regards to chances created with Villa getting the ball in the back of the net at one instance which was later ruled offside.
Surprisingly, Bailey, 27, who was brought on in the first half was later substituted in the 59th minute, he did not seem to be carrying an injury, never the less he recently returned from injury and is seemingly not fully fit.
The second half, for the most part, was much like the first half with both teams threatening but unable to score until about 12 minutes before the 90th. Villa Park stadium came alive after the deadlock was broken in the 79th minute by Jhon Durán.
Aston Villa's last match in the tournament also ended in victory, against BSC Young Boys.
This was Bailey's second appearance in the Champions League, his debut was several years ago with Bayer Leverkusen in February of 2017, that match ended in a 2–2 draw against Atlético Madrid.
