Bob Marley: One Love Filming Location, Strawberry Hill Hotel Selling for US$16.8 Million

Bob Marley: One Love Filming Location, Strawberry Hill Hotel Selling for US$16.8 Million

Once a hideaway for Bob Marley and recently featured in the Bob Marley: One Love biopic, the Strawberry Hill Hotel in St. Andrew has been placed on sale.

Located in Jamaica's picturesque Blue Mountains, Strawberry Hill encompasses over 25 acres and offers visitors beauty and history. The property was originally a coffee plantation in the 18th century and was owned by members of the British royal family.

It was eventually placed under the ownership of Island Records founder Chris Blackwell. According to reports, the property is currently being offered by the U.S. marketing team of Ivan Hernandez, Leslie Cooper, and Alex Miranda at Compass for US$16.8 million.

The sale comes on the heels of the release of the Bob Marley: One Love movie, which featured the Strawberry Hill Hotel as one of its Jamaican locations. Blackwell worked with Bob Marley on albums such as Catch a Fire and Uprising. After the assassination attempt on the Reggae singer's life, he is said to have recuperated at Strawberry Hill.

The location features 13 Georgian-style cottages, with each containing a private veranda. In one photo taken from one of the bedrooms, Marley's name, as well as his record label, Tuff Gong, can be seen above the doorway to the veranda.

Other photographs taken at the scenic location showcase its amenities and beautiful architecture, including timber-framed structures surrounded by cobblestone courtyards, manicured lawns, a lagoon-style swimming pool, a spa, and a gift shop.
