Nigy Boy's Song 'Continent' Tops Multiple Charts "Took a blind man to see what Dancehall needed"

Nigy Boy's Song 'Continent' Tops Multiple Charts

Visually impaired artiste Nigy Boy appears to have struck gold with his latest single, Continent. The infectious song, recorded on Rvssian's popular Dutty Money Riddim, has been racking up so much global attention that the song debuted on the iTunes reggae chart, which shows the most downloaded songs lately.

At some point, over the weekend, the track was impressively ranked as the second most downloaded song in the reggae category, immediately behind reggae legend Bob Marley's iconic track Three Little Birds. This glorious feat was acquired within only three days of Continent dropping on YouTube, where the music video has since amassed over 538,000 views and is trending at No. 1 in Jamaica.

Following Nigy's achievement, there has been a surge of praise for the artiste. One person who showed support for the blind vocalist is dancehall veteran Bounty Killer, who reshared the iTunes chart and commended Rvssian for allowing the "hidden gem" to shine.

"All those graphic gothic songs of vulgarity none made it among those great timeless classics straight to the top the blind man has the deepest vision mi and Russian nuh friend but awesome job highlighting one of the hidden gem 💎 @nigyboyagain," Bounty Killer wrote.

Since the song's release, it has been greatly praised for its lack of lewd and explicit lyrical content, which is heavily incorporated into the other songs on the Dutty Money Riddim. In the track, the Montego Bay native explains that just as the great leaders in the Bible had multiple women, he too desires many lovers since women pursue him on each and every continent.

The song is also the top new song on Apple music reggae chart.

Additionally, the song is number 1 on the Youtube trending chart for Jamaica.

The 22-year-old can be heard singing, "Rvssian, dem seh mi fi easy and stay true to one queen, but wait wull on, if Solomon and David had ladies by the dozens then why can't I be greedy?...Why mi fi have one gyal when continent a gyal a tek set pan me fi demself."

The visuals display multiple ladies flaunting their beauty and gently caressing the artiste, who was at times shown ruling over a classroom of women in a separate scene. As the song glorified the women from each continent, the music video showed an array of beauties.
