Following the very public online fallout between dancehall artiste Teejay and producer Dj Mac, on-the-rise music producer Panda has shared his side of the story amid the ongoing feud.
Teejay recently called out Dj Mac for what he alleged was the producer's attempts to claim ownership of the single Drift and push aside Panda. Panda created the Banga Rock Riddim, which the song is featured on.
Dj Mac went on to share his side of the story in a now-deleted interview on the Let's Be Honest podcast and accused Teejay of selfishly wanting Drift to be the only song featured on the rhythm. But, according to Panda, an arrangement was made to prioritise Drift and then work with other artistes on the Banga Rock Riddim after they had recouped the expenses spent on the single.
Sharing his side of the events on The Fix Podcast, Panda said DJ Mac was included in the single because of his notoriety, and the producer also paid for some of the track's expenses. However, Panda refuted claims by Dj Mac that he paid to mix and master the single by himself.
He shared that he paid half the cost of the mixing and mastering of the song and spent approximately $100,000 on its promotion.
In regards to what initiated the rift/drift between Teejay and Dj Mac, Panda disclosed that Dj Mac allegedly went behind their backs to the Warner Music Group, claiming ownership of the Banga Rock Riddim.
