As part of Apple's augmented reality initiative, the company is introducing Apple Vision Pro, a headset that perfectly blends the digital and real worlds, according to the tech brand. Set to be launched early next year on the US (United States) market, Apple's AR headset will start at a costly $3,499 and become available to more countries as the year goes on.
In addition to being powered by a separate battery pack, the device can also be controlled with your eyes, hands, and voice. Owners of the new device can browse rows of app icons in an operating system called visionOS by looking at them rather than using a controller. Even if your hands are resting low on your body, downward-facing cameras can capture them.
Aside from that, the headset can be connected to the user's Mac through Bluetooth and supports Bluetooth accessories, such as Magic Keyboard and Magic Trackpad.
“It’s the first Apple product you look through, and not at,” Apple's chief executive Tim Cook said of the ski goggles-shaped device.
People who wear glasses can magnetically attach custom optical inserts to their lenses. There is an external battery that lasts up to two hours in the device, and it can connect via a woven cable, which can be kept in a pocket and plugged into an external power source.
According to Apple, the display will be exceptionally sharp and able to display 4K videos. It has a cloth-lined headset mask and a strap or headband that can flex to fit a variety of face shapes and sizes. Apple calls it a "Light Seal".
