Following the passing of their former bandmate Takeoff in 2022, rappers Offset and Quavo reunited to honour their group member at his posthumous birthday celebration on Sunday.
Takeoff, born Kirsnick Khari Ball, was killed by a stray bullet outside a bowling alley in Houston, Texas, last November after an altercation that was developed over a high-stakes dice game led to gunfire. Takeoff was the youngest member of the rap group Migos and nephew and cousin to his bandmates Quavo and Offset, respectively.
Following his death, the late rapper's friends and family gathered to celebrate in Atlanta what would have been his 29th birthday yesterday. Though there has been rumoured bad blood between Offset and Quavo, which allegedly led to Migos splitting up last year, the pair were both spotted together at Takeoff's celebration.
The artistes and other attendees donned t-shirts with Takeoff's portrait and lit lanterns with messages for the rapper.
“To those whose flame has been extinguished, let this light represent our love and compassion. We will never forget you,” One of the messages read.
