Jamaica's Reggae Boyz played to a 4-1 win over Trinidad and Tobago on Wednesday after not winning a competitive game in over one year. Head coach Heimir Hallgrimsson, during his press conference, pointed out that despite the criticism of not winning before Wednesday he was not worried, he said "i haven't lost a competitive match for Jamaica and that's what matters in the end".
Demarai Remelle Gray who scored twice was a topic of discussion and the coach expressed his happiness with the player's performance on his birthday.
With regards to Dujuan Whisper Richards, Hallgrimsson called out the critics who had bad things to say about his selection into the squad for the Gold Cup. "I was criticized for picking the kid.... and he only needed ten minutes to score a goal," says Hallgrimsson before informing the interviewer that Richards is now the youngest player to ever score in the history of the Gold Cup.
Several other top performers were highlighted throughout the press conference and praised for their performances given the circumstances.
