After scoring his first goal in the Gold Cup against Trinidad and Tobago on Wednesday, Dujuan ‘Whisper’ Richards placed himself in the history books of the tournament by becoming the youngest player to ever score in the competition.

Whisper who was given a chance to show his talent with just minutes to go impressed after scoring from a deflected shot that was taken from outside the box. The deflected shot left the Trinidad and Tobago goalkeeper rooted to a spot and unable to react quickly enough as he watched the ball to his left roll into the back of the net.

Head coach Heimir Hallgrimsson was the first to point out the achievement to the public in his post-match press conference after the victory, highlighting that the kid only needs ten minutes to score after facing criticism for being included in the squad despite not playing any competitive football in recent times.
