Black Ryno vs. Vybz Kartel Feud Reignites

Black Ryno vs. Vybz Kartel Feud Reignites

Despite their past successful collaborations and eventual parting of ways over a decade ago, dancehall artistes Vybz Kartel and Black Ryno have not yet made amends and have seemingly reignited their years-long feud.

After rising to prominence in the early 2000s as one of Vybz Kartel's many proteges in his now-dispanded Gaza Empire, Black Ryno departed the music camp in 2010. Since making his exit 13 years ago, Black Ryno has found himself at odds with his former mentor on multiple occasions and is seemingly ready to take on the incarcerated deejay once again.

On Saturday, Vybz Kartel took to Instagram to highlight his longevity in the music industry, sharing a video of his single Street Vybz with the caption, “POV: "KARTEL SONGS WONT LAST" 😅😅😅😅.” The single highlighted Kartel's Street Vybz Rum and originally shouted out Black Ryno as well.

However, during the clip of the song, two sections of the hit track that mentioned Black Ryno were noticeably muted. One of the muted phrases, “see Ryno dem deh just walk in,” was ommited from the song's intro, while the other, “some fi me, some fi Black Ryno,” was removed from the track's chorus.

Following Kartel's post, Ryno also took to Instagram on Saturday to seemingly dismiss the removal of his name, sharing a video of him declaring that he does not drink rum. Additionally, the Bike Back deejay noted that he cannot be bought and that respect goes both ways in the video's caption.

Black Ryno further addressed Kartel in a reported deleted post to his Instagram page, once again referring to the drinking of alcohol and seemingly shading the artiste's Street Vybz Rum.

“IS A “DON JULIO” OR “HENNESSY” CHRISTMAS ... SANTA OWE ME ALOT OF BREAD ... ITS A PETTY 2024,” Ryno reportedly stated.

It should be noted that Kartel has been referred to as Santa in the past. In the single My Money (Ha Ha) by Kartel, featuring the Merital Family, Kartel was referred to as Santa in the chorus.

“My money, money, money, haha. Mhm hmmm. Money, money, haha. Mek teacher laugh out like a Santa. Ha haaaa,” the line states.

Kartel also referred to Santa in his 2009 collaborative track with Black Ryno Gaza Christmas after Mavado seemingly dissed him on the single Gully Christmas. In regards to Black Ryno's statement suggesting that he is owed a lot, the artiste reportedly accused Kartel in 2019 of robbing him.

According to reports from The Tropixs, Black Ryno addressed people who had labelled him as ungrateful after his exit from the Gaza Empire in a lengthy statement posted to his Instagram page. Disclosing what initiated his departure from the Gaza Empire, Black Ryno accused Kartel of stealing the money he had saved to buy his mother a house.
