Mr. Vegas Warns that the PNP is Trying to Ignite "Civil Unrest": Video

Amid tensions between the People's National Party (PNP) and the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) following the release of the Integrity Commission report on the prime minister, Mr. Vegas issued a warning on Wednesday that the PNP is trying to ignite civil unrest.

On Tuesday, the Integrity Commission tabled a report in the House of Representatives, which concerned the findings of their investigation into the statutory declarations of Prime Minister Andrew Holness. Included in the report, were findings related to various bank accounts connected to Holness.

The PNP have expressed their outrage on several occasions amid the IC's investigation, but according to Mr. Vegas, the opposition party is trying to ignite civil unrest. The Heads High deejay took to his Instagram account on Wednesday to warn Jamaicans, advising them to "listen up" and to "be careful."

In a short video shared on his page, Vegas further urged Jamaicans to pay attention to both the PNP and the IC.

"Pay attention, Jamaican people. The PNP is trying to start a civil unrest based on my observation. Unuh be careful. Notice dem put out a report. Integrity Commission seh dem put out a report. Dem guh through international forensic fi investigate the prime minister. Notice dem did not attach the forensic report to the report that they sent to parliament to table." Mr. Vegas said.

He further expressed that the IC did not add the forensic report because it would have provided the public with the details of the bank transactions that they were investigating. Vegas went on to call out the IC's Director of Investigations, Kevon Stephenson, who he said is acting as if he is qualified and is telling companies how to operate their businesses.

Viewers of the video shared mixed reactions, with some agreeing with Vegas while others criticised the artiste and accused him of defending the prime minister because he is working with him.

"Pnp strategy is to keep the waters muddy until elections due. Campbell said it himself, the PNP have a strategy to gain state power.," one viewer said.

While another viewer wrote,

Spice Accused of Copying Etana's 'Mirror' Concept

Producer Kemar McGregor on Tuesday accused Spice of copying the concept of Etana's song Mirror, weeks after the Queen of Dancehall released her 'Mirror 2025' album.

Spice released her third studio album, Mirror 25, on August 9, with the album serving as a reflection and celebration of her 25-year career in dancehall. One of the featured tracks on the album is titled Mirror, on which the artiste expressed her confidence in her looks as a black woman.

Prior to the release of Spice's album, Etana released her single Mirror, which was produced by McGregor, on YouTube on March 6, 2024. Unlike the music Etana is more popularly known for, the Reggae singer infused Dancehall on the track and also flaunted her confidence with her looks on the song.

McGregor took to his Instagram page to take shots at Spice in addition to Shenseea and Shaggy. The producer shared a video, which included a behind-the-scenes look at Etana taking promotional photos for the track in front of a mirror.

The video also featured Spice's album cover art, which depicts the artiste looking into a mirror. Captioning the photo, McGregor bashed Spice, Shenseea, and Shaggy, accusing Spice of stealing Etana's concept.

Me cuss her bout her fake streams and never see seh the spider did have on blue robe till she go as far as Theif the entire concept of mirror. McGregor wrote.

In a 2023 post from Etana, the singer seemingly took shots at someone while promoting the single. The post also appears to feature an edited section in 2024, which suggests that the release of her track bothered someone.

The initiative was carried out by The Beenie Man Foundation, a charitable organisation that is focused on Education, Entrepreneurship, and Youth Mentorship.

The footage was shared on his Instagram page Tuesday night, showing the activities. The deejay and his team which consisted of several of his family members including his wife and kids handed over the items.

During the proceedings, Beenie Man interacted with several of the students especially the ones who had speech impediments like himself. Beenie Man also made a song via freestyle on the spot while talking to the children.

Beenie Man recalled partnering with the school's choir and being a former student of the school.

Funds given to selected students was transferred to the student's account to help pay for school fees, and vouchers were also handed out.

The caption for the post reads, "Empowering the next generation! @beeniemanfdnja generously donated school fees and vouchers for 70 students at Pembroke Hall High School."

The statement continues, "We are investing in the future and ensuring every child has the opportunity to succeed! 📚#SupportOurYouth #educationmatters #kingstonbookshop."

Jamaicans Outraged by Viral Video of Students Beating Another in Portland

Over the past 48 hours, a video has been making rounds online showing two boys picking on another school student. The incident took place at a school in Portland and the students involved are said to be 9, 10 and 12 years old.

In the 48-second-long video, one student, seemingly, the youngest of the three can be seen in distress as he argued with the other two boys who were badgering him.

Seconds later it was determined that the young boy should get a "kunk", the boy was next held which caused an uproar "lef mi alone" he screamed and shouted as he tried to get free of the boy who was holding him.

The tussle quickly turned into a fight that the young student could not handle as the older boy proceeded to land several heavy blows to his upper body. The beating resulted in the younger student falling to the ground and other students coming to his rescue to pick him up.

The matter is currently being investigated by the Portland police who is also in contact with the parents of the students.

Reacting to the video on X(Formerly Twitter), one commented, "When I watch this video it hurt me to my heart to see all this can you believe all this those smh a bay big people ago school this last day's those kid's aren't learning one more than this."

Another person said, "This is heart-wrenching to know that you send yuh pickney gah school and dem turn round get beat up I hope that parent press charges."

Spice Confirmed for Kartel's Freedom Street Concert

Monday night, the leader of the Gaza Nation, Vybz Kartel confirmed that Spice will be performing at his much-anticipated Freedom Street Concert which is set for New Year's Eve.

According to Kartel, he spoke to Spice shortly before making the announcement. The Queen of the Dancehall is the first artiste announced to be a part of the lineup of artistes who will grace the stage at the show.

"Gaza Nation look pan mi good, know a who mi just a chat to, guess, all when a night yuh ... feel like sun hot when yuh come inna mi ramping shop... nah fi seh nutt'n more, yuh wah si the king and the queen fi the first time in 13 years, Freedom Street December 31st, be there," he said in a video posted to his Instagram.

While the full lineup is pending, in his most recent TVJ Interview, Kartel expressed that he would like Spice and Slillibeng on his show hence Skillibeng is also expected to perform. "Mi nuh like people still enuh, suh, mi nuh know... Spice, Skillibeng," he stated as he struggled to call names.

Lieutenant Stitchie Dead Rumours Rubbished by Wife

58-year-old Jamaican Gospel Reggae singer Rev. Dr. Lt. Stitchie O.D., born Cleveland Laing is alive, despite rumours circulating online over the past 24 hours that he passed away.

The rumours began two weeks after news broke that Stitchie was in a coma as a result of suffering a severe brain haemorrhage that left him unresponsive.

Sophia Laing, Stitchie's wife, confirmed that the Dancehall Governor is alive to the Jamaica Gleaner on Tuesday. She stated, “He is not dead. Earlier this morning I spoke to a nurse at the hospital .... he is alive. ”

She further noted, “Yuh know, people will do and say all sorts of things. I really don’t want to dwell on those negative things.”

The rumours began on Youtube via a video that racked up over 50k views in a day, which caused several persons to post online about the entertainer's passing with some sending condolence via comments on Stitchie's Instagram.

MC Nuffy was amongst the many people who thought he passed away, sharing the news online on Tuesday before deleting the post shortly after.

On a Stitchie post on Instagram, one person commented, "To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. RIP until He (Jesus) returns!, Another said, "Rest well Governor 😢. You left a legacy behind."

Stitchie's last social media post was in October of 2023, he has been absent online since. Notably, he had made occasional posts prior.

The former Dancehall star who is best known for his hit song ‘Wear Yuh Size,’ is currently in a long-term care facility, requiring extensive rehabilitation care.

A GoFundMe was set up for the hailing artiste by his wife on September 1, 2024, with hopes to raise funds to help with his health care. So far, donations have reached $16,995 of an intended target of $100,000.

PNP's Leadership Bashed by Cliff Hughes for Celebrating Vybz Kartel at Conference: "A man of questionable character is hailed as a hero"

Jamaica's general election is expected to take place by next summer and on Sunday the People’s National Party hosted their latest conference to inform Jamaicans about their plans for the country, the event was also a rallying cry, urging Jamaicans to support the party on election day.

Notably, the main speech by party leader Mark Golding was overshadowed by the deeds of Vybz Kartel and L.A. Lewis which got more attention in the media. Reacting to the happenings, radio personality Cliff Hughes talked extensively on the matter in his Monday show on Nationwide.

"The PNP is politically desperate, it cannot fathom being in opposition for three consecutive terms," he went on to outline that the party has been out of power for no more than two consecutive terms, hence they are willing to do all it takes to win the next election and not be out of power for three consecutive terms.

Calling out Mark Goding and his associates, the journalist expressed that the leadership of the opposition is relatively inexperienced, he highlights that what happened on Sunday was a result of inexperience.

"A man of questionable character is hailed as a hero," says Cliff Hughes as he bashes the move to have Vybz Kartel up front and centre at the event. According to Hughes, the orange-coloured party is using Vybz Kartel's popularity to boast their influence, "they welcome him because they know it is gonna resonate".

According to Huges, the route the party is going down nowadays is not of its origins from Manley's days. He says while Golding made some "good points" during his speech, "most of what he came with are not organically new ideas," says Huges.

"Who in the leadership of the PNP was courageous enough to stand up and say not a boxide... who was courageous enough to do that... where were day," he asked before calling out Pete Bunting for not standing up against the decision to have the deejay on stage.

"We have to confront it because we know the dangers, we know the threats we are facing," he stated.

During the show, Huges replayed an earlier report in which Peter Bunting stated that Kartel is the "poster child" of the negative elements in Jamaica's popular culture. "He's very clever, he's is very talented but he has put that talent entirely in the service of evil," Bunting stated several years ago.

'Where was he yesterday," the radio man asked with regards to Peter Bunting allowing the deed to be done. He went on to conclude that both political parties have used questionable personalities to boost their chances of winning at the polls.

A man who said he was 91 years old called into the radio program and likened Vybz Kartel's endorsement to similar deeds that took place in the 1970s and the 1980s.

"Seeing Kartel on the podium yesterday... his presence on the podium let me feel nervous, make me feel like i want to go home," he said before calling out several Jamaican gangsters' names who did similar deeds, ultimately leading to an increase in violence on the island.

Sean "Diddy" Combs Arrested in New York on Monday

54-year-old Hip-hop mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs was arrested on Monday in New York City on federal charges, following months of scrutiny and multiple raids on his properties.

Combs was taken into custody in Manhattan on September 16, though the arrest was initially planned for Tuesday, September 17. The charges, which remain unspecified, are part of an ongoing criminal investigation.

Marc Agnifilo, Combs' attorney, expressed disappointment in the arrest, asserting that his client is "an innocent man" and plans to fight the charges.

Federal authorities had previously raided Combs' properties in Los Angeles and Miami as part of the investigation, which is believed to be linked to allegations of sex trafficking and other serious offences.

As per sources, the arrest and charges were expected by Diddy, but he did not know when hence he recently relocated.

Just days ago a video surfaced of the mogul mingling with some people at an outside location.

Diddy is expected to appear in court within the next 48 hours to answer the charges.

Mr. Vegas is not impressed with some of the activities that took place at the 86th staging of the People’s National Party conference, highlighting the viral moments involving L.A. Lewis, Vybz Kartel and Richard Currie.

The outspoken Dancehall veteran took to social media to dig at his critics who believe he should "stick to music" and avoid politics, sharing a video of Kartel and Currie walking out on stage to much fanfare.

Vybz Kartel a Hit at Dolly Sundays: Dancing and Buying Out the Bar

The most talked about artiste in Dancehall at the moment, Vybz Kartel capped off Sunday with an appearance at Dolly Sundays which took place inside Club Meca which is located along Constant Spring Rd.

Photos and videos from the event began circulating online early Monday morning. This appearance was the third major appearance made on the day by the deejay, having earlier appeared at the People’s National Party conference during the day.

The 48-year-old also made a surprise appearance on Rising Stars show where he was a judge, giving several contestants advice.

Gabbidon showing Vybz Kartel how to do the 'Drift' dance was one of the highlights of the night inside Meca. In another instance, the deejay can be seen ordering 20 bottles, 10 Hennessy for the females and 10 for the males.

Alkaline Returns With 'Tek A Gyal'

Alkaline did not release a song for almost three months, dropping his latest musical endeavour on Sunday night. 'Tek A Gyal' is a witty track for the ladies, especially the ones who are confident enough to walk in on relationships and take over.

Initially, the artwork for the song was shared during the week, causing fans to speculate if a new song was on the way or if the deejay had a daughter. The speculations were put to bed with the new release.

While the deejaying is seemingly avoiding drama and controversy, electing to release a girl song instead of a hardcore street banger which may ignite quell feuds, the new song and artwork can be considered to be a well-orchestrated move.

Some lyrics, "tek over... Tek a gyal man yuh likkle section slippery... yo nuh ask question yuh just tek a gyal man... Gwaan with yo self gwaan with a bang... put har right out, election who can class yo."

The artwork for the track shows female garments, clothing that 'girly girls' will wear.

In the true nature of rivalry, some vendetta fans believe that the deejay's song is talking about Sidem with the clothes looking like an attire that the English female would wear, not to mention the lyrics of the song highlighting a female taking another girl's man, something Sidem can be considered of doing as it relates to shorty and Kartel.

Only time will tell if the two Dancehall heavyweights will re-ignite their dormant feud.

Vybz Kartel Appears as Judge on Digicel Rising Stars

Vybz Kartel surprised fans Sunday night as he appeared as a judge on Digicel Rising Stars, hours after he attended the 86th staging of the People’s National Party conference.

Videos now making rounds online show the flamboyant deejay entering the scene of the show, he is also seen advising multiple contestants on how to improve their craft.

Kartel's partner, Sidem was also present as the deejay took part in the iconic show which mostly features singers. Notably, Romain Virgo, Laden and Chris Martin all rose to popularity from the show.

While giving advice to one young content, Kartel stated, "Mi neva know a suh yuh did young, a now mi get it cah yo voice come like one a them big beast deh weh a skate pan di toll, powerful enuh!'

Male and Female Police Officers Killed in Clarendon Accident

Developing reports detail that, on Sunday evening, two police officers, a male and a female lost their lives in a single-vehicle accident that left two other officers hospitalized in Clarendon

The incident took place between 6 PM and 7 PM along the York Town main road after the driver lost control of the vehicle and subsequently plunged into a ditch.

The police service vehicle can be seen overturned in a ditch in photos now making rounds online.

All four occupants of the vehicle were taken to the hospital where two of them were pronounced dead. Constables Jessica West and Shawn Atkins, both of the Area 3 police division passed away.

The Jamaica Cosnatbuakry force acknowledged the fatal crash online via a post with a lengthy caption that reads, "The Police High Command is saddened by the death of two Police Constables— a man and a woman— who died as a result of injuries they sustained in a motor vehicle accident on the York Town main road, May Pen, Claredon on Sunday, September 15."

"At about 6:30 p.m., the officers were in a service vehicle travelling along the roadway, on reaching a section of the roadway, the driver allegedly lost control of the unit that went over a ditch. They were pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital."

It concluded, "The Jamaica Constabulary Force is expressing condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of the Constables, who were assigned to the Area 3 Headquarters in Clarendon. The Force’s Chaplaincy Branch and Welfare Department are providing support to the family members, friends and colleagues of the Constables. More details to follow."

Nicki Minaj Tries to Assist Jamaican Teen on TikTok: Says He Needs "Help to leave the country"

Nicki Minaj is making rounds locally again for her latest deeds on Tiktok with Jamaican Tiktoker Landale who wishes to leave the island 'immediately'. For over 20 minutes, both Nicki and the Jamaican talked about the possibilities.

"Mi need help fi lef di country," said Landale before detailing that he can't go out and about because "nudes" of him have been circulating online, causing him to be threatened. According to the young Jamaican, he would love to go to "Florida", "Canada" or even "Trinidad".

After asking Nicki several times for help to travel to the USA, she revealed that she's not a citizen of the United States, despite living there for many years. The Trinidadian went on a tangent, highlighting that she has paid "millions" in taxes and it's "crazy" that she has not been given an honourary "citizenship" in the country.

Further on, while talking about the possibilities about Trinidad, Landale asked if she could turn on her "camera" so that he could see her. She scolded him about his love for the camera which got him into problem in the first place, she made sure to give her stern statement in patwa.

Landale who is 15 years old, says he was in grade 10 in high school with two years left, however, he is not attending school at the moment. "I just want to leave Jamaica because it's not safe," the teen says.

Prettii Don Talks on Being Cornered by Popcaan in St. Thomas: "A di grace a God"

Prettii Don whose real name is Venice Parkes gives more details about her encounter with Popcaan at a river in St. Thomas. Days ago, she spoke briefly on the matter, highlighting that she got a stern speech from the Unruly Boss and his crew members at the location.

On Sunday, she spoke on several topics, including Vybz Kartel, Popcaan, Haiti, Burger King, Chris Gayle vs Romeich, Britt and multiple others, however, the most amusing was the "main event" as she called it.

The enigmatic Jamaican online personality stated that she was in St. Thomas for an event she was booked for and decided to spend some time at a river, not knowing that the location was controlled by Popcaan.

While on her way to the ‘Unruly River’, she recounts being followed by three vehicles at one point, "two van and one car" she stated. After reaching the location, before going into the water, she was greeted by Popcaan and his crew members.

According to the outspoken personality, Popcaan jumped out of one of the vehicles and said, "Prettii Don a weh yuh a duh inna mi place, mi si yuh pan the internet and yuh diss mi sister couple time well and look at it now mi ketch yuh inna mi place like stray dawg," she further detailed that the artiste said that he's evil "fi true" and dark.

"A the grace a God mek mi nuh lef yuh and yo friends them up inna the hills dem," Popcaan allegedly said. After giving that speech, Prettii Don says Popcaan gave her permission to enjoy the river, but at a less desirable location.

According to Prettii Don, while she and her friends were leaving the location, she was told to "come back" by Popcaan.

She next bashed Popcaan's entourage members, pointing out faults in their attire during the incident.

"All you Popcaan mi can't believe you 5 foot nothing bombo-hole, You jump out a intimidate a man-bitch, gweh you a bitch Poppy, " Prettii Don said as she ranted about the matter.

Further on, in the chat she warns Popcaan that she could have taken out a lawsuit against him because of his threats.

Despite days of the allegations circulating online, Popcaan is yet to directly respond to the matter.

Vybz Kartel Rockets to 1 Million Views "The Comet is coming"

A day after being released on YouTube, 'The Comet' surpassed over one million views on the platform, something Vybz Kartel has never done before, in such a short space of time.

It's hard to pinpoint another Dancehall artiste who has racked up more views in the same time period after a song's release.

Notably, in less than 24 hours after release, the song was trending number one on the online video platform locally, the track also trended 26 for songs on YouTube in New York City, highlighting the widespread/recognition views the new release has been getting.

"Ah thought i told you that the comet is coming," the deejay sings in the chorus of the song as he flaunts his widespread dominance in Dancehall.

In a recent interview, Vybz Kartel stated that he was not eager to release new music and suggested that it might take months before he does so, he released 'The Comet' in less than a month after making the statement.

He recently also stated that he's not eager to voice and release new collaborations, with the exception of Bob Marley and a few other unlikely names. Only time will tell how long it will take before we ear a new collaboration with the exception of his sons and close associates such as Shawn Storm.

On the other hand, Vybz Kartel's Instagram account went missing on the platform for several hours on Saturday and that's not the first time the account disappeared or its content disappeared over the past 30 days.

Vybz Kartel's Instagram Account Disappears

Vybz Kartel's main Instagram account with over 2.8 million followers could not be found Saturday night on the platform.

The page does not show when searched for with the keywords "Vybz Kartel", furthermore when the direct link to the page is entered in a browser, an error message states, "Sorry, this page isn't available. The link you followed may be broken, or the page may have been removed."

It's unclear how or why the page was removed.

This page removal comes amidst the success of his 'The Comet' song and music video release online, with the track racking up over 900k views on YouTube within 30 hours after its release on the platform. The song is also the number-one trending track locally.

Since Kartel's release from prison over a month ago, his Instagram page has gained over 800k followers with the 48-year-old posting daily on the platform.

Recently, other strange activities were noticed on the page after all of his posts went missing for hours before reappearing again, notably, Vybz Kartel did not comment on the matter then.

Shenseea says "Mi a date two people at the same time," But Hope to 'lockdown' by Christmas: Video

Dancehall princess Shenseea is sparking more controversy with her latest previewed unreleased song. The track inspired by a popular RnB song features provocative lyrics such as, "Mi a date two people at the same time, just weighing my options."

She went on to highlight that the deed might cause some problems, however, she is willing to continue on the same path until she elects the best candidate to settle down with.

"Anuh cheat mi ma cheat just date by law, and if mi give it up mi not doing it raw," she also sings in the short video clip uploaded to TikTok.

"Until mi pick yo yuh affi share mi," she outlines.

Notably, Shenseea reacted to one of the many comments, saying that she wants to be 'lockdown' over the Christmas holidays so she's making the most of the current 'dating season'.

44-year-old Jamaican cricketing superstar Chris Gayle is not happy with Romeich's actions towards his event endeavours, highlighting that he helped Romeich in the past, but he's now being disloyal and "disrespectful".

In an interview on Entertainment Report with Anthony Miller, Gayle details that his birthday is on September 21 and he will be hosting his annual birthday party which be an initiative to give back to a school he went to while growing up, the Josephine Glasspole Basic School in Rollington Town.
