A few months after he called for the freedom of rapper Young Thug, Drake, age 37, returns showing support for another popular incarcerated entertainer, Vybz Kartel. On Tuesday, Drizzy made the request without saying a word, the statement was made via writing on a T-shirt.
Over the years, Drake has shown a lot of love to Jamaicans and the culture at large, trying to speak like us in some instances. This is the latest reminder that he's zoomed in on things that happen on the island.
In particular, in recent times, he has been showing support to Popcaan and Vybz Kartel after earlier being associated with Mavado. Tuesday's post from Drake comes amidst Adidja Azim Palmer's revitalised legal battle, with his murder conviction being "quashed" recently by the UK Privy Council.
The shirt has the following written on it, "Up 2 Di Time, FREE KARTEL, FREE WORLD BOSS." It appears that the shirt was up for display during a studio session.
Notably, fellow dancehall artiste, Spice has been in full support of the Portmore deejay by updating her display picture to show a picture of Vybz Kartel, she currently has the same picture Vybz Kartel has as a display picture on his Instagram profile.

Back in January, Drake went into more details while supporting Young Thug, he wrote, “This gotta be some form of jail misconduct, you gonna drag this talented man then not be able to control your employees using his personal business for their own gain? Somebody benefited from this video even existing, and that’s shameful, whole case is a wash just 3 the guy and let him come home and continue bringing light to Atlanta.”
