During a sit-down, Dancehall artiste Tifa discussed how her controversial photoshoot was accidentally released without her knowledge of how explicit it was and how the man she was dating brought it to her attention.
Amid a career relaunch, Tifa teased that new music was on its way in a behind-the-scenes look at a photo shoot, and the social media post quickly went viral. However, the post did not garner criticism because of the artiste's expected new musical releases.
The explicit photo shoot partially revealed the entertainer's vagina, and it was instantly labelled a ploy for attention by many viewers, but she later denied the accusations. During an interview on The Fix podcast, Tifa further expressed that she was just as surprised as viewers when she rewatched the video.
According to Tifa, the photo shoot was for her recently released song Say Yes, and her team had requested something with a "wow factor" for the promotional photos, thus why she showed off her flexibility skills. The Spell It Out singer said that she was wearing underwear, stockings, and a body suit and was not aware that her assets were that large.
Despite the footage being cleared by her team and herself, Tifa said that they were all oblivious to the explicit nature of the video.
"None a we neva realise. As a woman, when dem tek yuh picta, the first place your looking is yuh face, and the second place yah look fi si yuh belly I've always heard I was P.H.A.T., but me nah tink seh a suh it waga waga," Tifa stated.
Tifa further shared that the video was released while she had started dating again. She said that it was the man she was seeing at the time who informed her of the explicit nature of the video. "I post the picture the day after going out on the date with the gentleman. He zooms in and screenshots it, and jokingly says, 'Why are you advertising my stuff.'"
Tifa said the video had already gone viral by the time she found out, and there was no point in deleting it. Unphased by the photoshoot debacle, Tifa said she is completely focused on her music career and expressed that she is in a better place with her current management team.
The singjay added that her team, helmed by producer Kemar McGregor, is completely devoted to taking her career to new heights. During her interview, Tifa also touched on the criticism she has faced over the years from haters and people who say that she is past her prime.
She said that she no longer takes the criticism personally and is mentally ready to be back in the industry. Tifa also expressed that she is in a different state of mind and will no longer be pursuing a defamation lawsuit against Foota Hype for his comments about her Gay Pride event performance.
