After some initial success in Britain, Mad Cobra signed a deal with Columbia Records. He released “Hard to Wet, Easy to Dry” in 1992 which featured the smash hit “Flex”. The single interpolated elements of the Temptations’ “Just My Imagination” and tells the story of chasing then hooking up with his girl. “Flex” topped the US Singles Chart, hit #7 on the R&B Charts and peaked at #13 on the Billboard Hot 100. Rihanna later sampled the song with her single “Say It”.
