DOWNSOUND Records has released a new rhythm Farr Out, which features in the work of a number of dancehall artists.

According to producer Cordel ‘Skatta’ Burrell, he and the DownSound team found an opportunity to put some real vibes back into the dancehall with a high-energy rhythm that the streets can relate to.

The rhythm features Vybz Kartel with How Mi Grow, Ishawna’s Long Fingernail, Weh Dat Aguh by Chi Ching Ching and Harry Toddler’s Use To.Last week, the set was abuzz with glitz, glamour and music with the making of the video directed by Josef Bogdanovich, DownSound’s principal. He explained the medley is one of 50 videos produced locally.

“The video is fashion driven and you will see Ishawna with a brand new look. The video also highlights some of the real social issues confronting this country, like when Kartel says ‘poverty is a prison’ and more importantly, bun di devil, Jah totally’,” said Bogdanovich.

Deejay Ishawna labels her boss as a perfectionist.

“It is great working with Joe as he always has a vision for what works well; he certainly is a perfectionist, spontaneous and he knows what he wants,” she said.
