The twitter account belonging to rising dancehall artiste Devin Di Dakta including Twitter was yesterday hacked by unscrupulous persons.

Several explicit and derogatory tweets and messages were sent from the account by hackers whose intentions were cut short after it was brought to the attention of the artiste and his management.

Shelly Ann Curran, manager for Devin distanced the artiste from the derogatory messages.

‘Clearly someone has intentions to smear Devin’s name and to tarnish his character. Devin is hardly ever on social media and at the time when this took place we were in the studio doing recordings’, said Ms Curran.

An upset Devin Di Dakta was clueless why anyone would want to hack into his account.

‘I am not into any fuss with anyone. I hardly have time to go on social media, so I don’t know where this is coming from. Right now I am just focusing on taking my career to the next level and representing for dancehall music to the fullest’, he said.

Devin, who won the Magnum King of the Dancehall competition earlier this year, has been enjoying rotation on the airwaves with songs including Honda Bike, Gal a Run Mi Dung and Rri Bang Bi Deng Deng. Over the Heroes weekend he delivered a stirring performance at the Marco Polo water party in St Mary.
