Dancehalls latest rising star Gully Bop has made what could be considered his first step into the international market after his song ‘My God Dem Nuh Bad Like Me’ was remixed by Walshy Fire of the group Major Lazer.
According to Gully Bop’s producer, Gutty Bling of Claims Records, the song has been receiving strong attention in the United States, the Caribbean and Canada.
“It’s a good look. the song a shell everywhere, especially US and Canada, and it was only released two weeks ago. Walshy Fire’s remix will put it on a bigger stage, and we are grateful for that because it shows that the work that the label is putting in is paying off. It’s just a joy right now,” Gutty Bling said.
The producer says that Gully Bop’s latest hit proves to critics that the 50-year-old recording artiste is not a one-hit wonder.
“Everybody thought he was a one-hit wonder, but he has shown that he has more to offer. The song has helped to push the label even further, and right now inna dancehall, apart from Vybz kartel, a Gully Bop a run di place,” he said.
Gully Bop is currently being managed by Claims Records and his business associate, Chin. A music video for My God Dem Nuh Bad Like Me was recently filmed by Road Block films and will be premiered tonight on On-stage. The video features cameos from award-winning selector Boom Boom, dancer Shelly Belly, and Face Xpression dance crew.
Gully Bop is currently featured on DJ Sunshine’s ‘Wul Dem Again Finale’ rhythm, with an effort called Round Here. Claims Records will also release a new Gully Bop song in 2015 called Car Bumper as well as launch a rhythm compilation called the Gyal Pledge rhythm.
