Dancehall artiste Popcaan has been having a successful run on the local and international dancehall scene. Since his entrance to the game, he has come into his own as an entertainer, creating hits and earning spots to perform on major shows locally and abroad. Now the recent ‘unruly’ branding that the artiste has undertaken in recent times seems to be catching on.
Canadian superstar Drake’s OVO (October’s Very Own) brand has featured the ‘Unruly Gang’ in their clothing line.
Two T-shirts on www.octobersveryown.com channel the entertainer’s ‘unruly’ jargon with ‘OVO Unruly Gang’ and ‘Y Pree’ printed on them. The latter is a slang oftentimes used as a substitute for saying ‘wah gwan’.
Efforts by The STAR to get a comment from Popcaan were unsuccessful.
Popcaan’s popular Unruly Rave music video had heavy OVO influences as the entertainer can be seen sporting OVO wear in the video directed by Niko of October’s Very Own.
The OVO website also features a two-minute remix of his Be Like Me on ZJ Chrome’s Decibels rhythm where he reps for the group.
Popcaan recently released the video for his Jam2 Productions song When You Wine Like That (Wine & Stop).
