Flexxx drops "Glory Day" EP

Dancehall artiste and songwriter Flexxx has released a nine-track EP, Glory Day.

The project, released on Tuesday, is produced exclusively by Allfaces Entertainment and Flexxx dem Production. Glory Day will be distributed by Black & Yellow and will be available worldwide via iTunes.

The EP features a blend of new tracks and collaborations such as My Shine, War ina Me, Get and Nuh Chat featuring Ce’cile and Wine Non Stop featuring Flirtagious.

Since the start of the new year, the Stepping Razor deejay has been steadily making his way back to the forefront of the dancehall after a brief hiatus.

Flexxx told THE STAR that he anticipates great success from the EP.

He said: “The anticipation is high and I hope to achieve great things. Yuh know music is unpredictable because sometimes, some of the songs that you really look out to and say yeah, da one deh ago be di big song, a nuh really dat a di big song, so mi just a hope fi the best and hope say it go further than the other EPs I have released.”

The EP could not have come at a more fitting time, as the deejay is scheduled to embark on promotional gigs locally and overseas.

The artiste told THE STAR that he also has new music in rotation as well as soon-to-be-released tracks for upcoming and established production houses.

“RME Musiq bad juggling weh soon drop Off-di-Press riddim, mi want unuh listen out for my bad song on that riddim. I also have other songs like Suh di Ting Set for Stashment Records and Thanks and Praises for All faces,” said Flexxx.

Mavado and Flexxx voice new collab

Dancehall artiste Flexxx has mended his friendship with the Gully Gad, Mavado. The two parted ways in 2012 after a radio interview in which Mavado denied that Flexxx was on tour with him after he was named a person of interest.

According to Flexxx, he was contacted by Mavado in the summer of last year.

“Me deh a me yard and see a number a call me, but me never recognise the number. Then I got a text saying ‘Gully’, so I answered the phone when the person called back and it was Mavado. We just do some big man reasonings and let bygones be bygones. We put the past behind us and we a work on the future,” Flexxx told THE STAR.

Since then, the two have collaborated on a new song with fellow artiste 3Star.

“We have a song that we did for Justus Arison of JA Productions. We nuh have a name yet, but, we voice it and mix it already,” he stated.

Questioned about his affiliation with both the Gully Side and Alliance Camp, Flexxx had this to say:

“Me a grassroots yute. Me never change. A so my ting set from morning. As for Bounty, me and the ‘General’ good. Nutten nuh change. Me and Killer nuh have no bad blood. Nutten nuh change deh so.”

He also recently opened The Flirtagious Sports Bar and Restaurant on Hagley Park Road and is set to release more new songs in the upcoming months.

“Me and Vado good. I know a lot of people haven’t heard from me in a while, but the ting hotter than before. My new song So The Ting Set by Stashment Records will be released soon, plus I’m working with some producers that I’ve had hits with in the past. Everything looks bright for 2015. I’m just gonna make the best of it,” he said.

Dancehall artiste Flexxx accuses Mavado of stealing money from American rapper Drake which was intended to build a library in Cassava Piece.

According to Flexxx who is also a the former ghost writer for Mavado, the singer took Drake’s money and promised to start a library in the community, however over two years has passed and Mavado is yet to erect a library in Cassava Piece, but instead used the money for his personal benefit buying luxury cars and houses.

Flexxx and Mavado fell out after the singer went on Irie FM to deny that the deejay was featured on his U.S tour. Mavado later allegedly had Flexxx’s U.S Visa revoked and blocked him from recording with several established producers
