Following my trip to Le Mans with Corvette, part of the GM group, I started talking to the team from Vauxhall who invited me along to give the VXR8 GTS a drive. Now is when it all starts to feel real! A major step on my road to delivery of the McLaren 675LT, the road test. I was invited to take part in the press event, 675LT The Drive, with the new car which included a number of laps on the Silverstone International Circuit before a road route in the local area.

Is it everything it’s cracked up to be? In a nutshell, it absolutely is. The McLaren 675LT is undeniably fast, hugely involving and emotional to drive. It carries a revised and improved soundtrack, blisteringly quick gear shifts, and aero you can feel working in conjunction with the low weight to offer outstanding performance. The car demonstrates its boisterous nature from the word go with a burnout feature and a willingness to play around.

There will only be 500 of the 675LT Coupe, and this is set to be a hugely exciting story sharing the process as we go from here through the ordering process and onto delivery later in the year of the new Shmeemobile!

Motor Trend, having much to do with the creation of the first generation of this car, was particularly excited about covering this new model, considering the last generation model debuted nearly 10 years ago. The new Miata, featuring a 2.0l engine outputting 155 hp and 148 lb-ft of torque, aims to accomplish what made the original Miata such a good car, but is it actually better than the first, second, and third generation cars? Before heading to the Porsche Test Track in Leipzig, we picked up the Veyrons in a public parking garage. This video shows you starting up the 1200HP WRC and driving all three Veyrons out the garage and cruising through Leipzig.

This time I’ve filmed the high performance hypercar from Denmark: the Zenvo ST1. It’s equipped with a Corvette 6.8L V8 that’s both supercharged and turbocharged, the peak power output is 1104HP with a maximum torque of 1430Nm. Result? 0 to 62mph goes under 3 seconds and a top speed limited to 233mph! Production is limited to 15 cars world wide.

The price is about US $1.8 Million.

On this very special episode of Head 2 Head, presented by Tire Rack, we present a hypercar battle for the ages: the McLaren P1 versus the Porsche 918 Spyder. Both of these cars have carbon fiber tubs and body panels. Both have small displacement, high revving V-8s packed between their passenger compartments and rear axles. Both use twin-clutch transmissions, carbon ceramic brakes, and active aerodynamics. Both have roughly 900 hp. Both are plug-in hybrids.
