Popular dancer Mystic has been certified gold with her Major Lazer’s ‘Bubble Butt’ collaboration and is now the first local dancer to be featured on a gold-selling track.
Bubble Butt, also featuring Bruno Mars, Tyga and 2 Chains, has garnered over 40 million views on YouTube.
Mystic told The STAR she was grateful for the success, and also highlighted that Jamaican talents only need the right opportunity to be successful.
“Being a part of the creative process with Major Lazer and making this track has been a privilege, and I will continue to celebrate the songs success,” said Mystic, who has been featured in several local and international music videos, and currently teaches dance classes.
“I have not received my copy of the plaque as yet, but I am so excited about this accomplishment. I think everyone has potential and if they are dedicated to their craft and given the opportunity, they will succeed.”
Major Lazer also recruited Jamaican reggae artiste Tarrus Riley for a new collaboration called Powerful. That song has been viewed 29 million times collectively on YouTube. However, the single which also features pop artiste Ellie Goulding is yet to chart on the highly competitive Billboard chart.
The production trio of Diplo, Walsy Fire and Jillionare are also responsible for Busy Signal’s platinum-selling Bumaye.
