Currently occupying the No. 1 and No. 3 spots with ‘Nuh Boring Gyal’ on the Pree Dis TV Top 10 and Entertainment Report Top 10 Charts aired on TEMPO and Television Jamaica (TVJ), respectively, dancehall artiste Aidonia in the space is not pleased with several ill practices within the industry.
Last week, during an interview on the popular Nightly Fix radio show (Newstalk 93 FM) the deejay said a lot of artistes in the industry are not being given the respect and justice they deserve.
According to Aidonia, when you scan the music markets globally, a lot of what is being hyped in Jamaica never gets beyond the island’s shores. He said, throughout his extensive travel, he has heard songs from a plethora of local acts doing very well, yet they are not given the due justice locally.
Another point of contention for the deejay was the mindset that artistes, have to flood the airwaves with music in order to be perceived as being ‘hot’ and ‘running the place’. Speaking in the almost hourlong interview, he rubbished the notion citing that music must be about quality and not quantity, hence the need for better quality control.
“A man can have hundred song and mi find one weh kick weh the hundred … all it takes is one,” he said.
Aidonia also used the interview to talk about the peace initiative with his former perennial rival Busy Signal and the unity with Popcaan. Other topics discussed included the upcoming release of his Project Sweat compilation, due for release on August 7, and the next phase of his One Voice Foundation, which will involve the building of a computer lab.
With a full roster of activities for the summer, Aidonia’s next appearance will be at the Appleton Dream Weekend ‘Celebrity Playground’ on August 6 in Negril.

SIZZLA is working to bring cultural and historical awareness within his August Town community through his Sizzla Youth Foundation.
The artiste is spearheading month-long celebrations for the August Town Emancipation Birthday, commemorating 177 years since the St Andrew community was officially established.
“It is paramount that we remind the youths of the community where they are from and the rich history and tradition which they must uphold. They must be aware of the strong links to the fight against slavery as the original settlers in these lands came from the Mona and Papine plantations… so we just need to re-education the community so they know where they are coming from so as to chart the course forward,” said Sizzla.
The celebrations started Wednesday with a peace march through August Town.
Other events include the unveiling of a wall dedicated to renowned August Town spiritual leader Alexander Bedward. This takes place tomorrow.
A Senior Citizens Day is scheduled for August 2. August 6 is Bedward Day at the Bedward Temple in the community. The Greater August Town Violence Prevention Day is set for August 13, while the World of Reggae Concert featuring Sizzla and friends is at the UWI Bowl, Mona, on August 16.
The month’s activities are completed by the Back-to-School Family Affair and Treat at the UWI Bowl on August 30.
According to Sizzla, his foundation which was founded in 2010, wants residents and persons from outside August Town to be aware of the good that has, and can come from, the area.
“We want to eradicate violence from August Town. This can only be achieved by instilling values which stress Africa and education. We must rejuvenate the minds and with that we can achieve much,” he said.
Popular jamaican radio staion Zip 103 official website has been zipfm.net Hacked By AnonCoders . Only a few weeks ago, the Jamaican Information Service government website was invaded by hackers. It was being speculated that the hack was lead by members of the ISIS terrorist group based on the message that was left on what would’ve been their home screen, but that has not yet been confirmed. The JIS worked quickly to get the site back to normal and running again.
The hackers have struck again. A recent visit to the zipfm.net website revealed that their page has also been hacked and a message left on their start-up page. The message stated clearly that they are not terrorists, but represent a voice of the ‘forgotten people’. The message also mentioned that they are an Algerian hacker group going by the name LAKHDAR DZ.
The message ended by stating that they are not in search of fame, but instead they seek to send a message to all the government bodies in the world.
Zipfm.net has not been reached for an official response to the invasion of their website.
The International hacker left the following statement of the Zipfm website.
”
To All Corporate Governments | To All Countries
This Is To Inform All And Everyone On The World , That Muslims Are Not Terrorists.
It Is A Misconception That Muslims Are Spreading Terrorism , When In All Reality , The Governments Are Killing Innocent’s And They Are The True Terrorists.

Birdman’s IG was hacked in a big way.
Birdman’s Instagram was hacked Thursday afternoon, his phone numbers and personal email addresses made bare for his 1.6 million followers and the whole world to see. Birdman has since deleted the images.
The hacker posted a mysterious message that ended with Birdman’s contact info three times with the caption “Kallme pls.” He then posted a photo reading only “the best is yet to come,” captioned “lol.” After Birdman deleted these images, the hacker returned, posting “Don’t be shy, just call me. I love attention.”
Birdman has taken his share of Ls this year, but perhaps none bigger than this.
Meek finally responded to Drake’s double shot of diss records this week with the track “Wanna Know” lasttonight. While the immediate reception isn’t looking great for Meek, we did get a response from the track’s subject matter, Drake.
Taking to Instagram, Drake simply put up a photo of himself laughing hysterically while looking at his phone, suggesting Meek’s response was a joke. Now whether or not Drake will fire back at Meek again remains to be unseen, but for now, think Drake can just keep laughing to the bank.
Check out the pic Drizzy shared on IG following Meek’s response.
On this iconic track, the prolific and legendary artiste, Sizzla Kalonji, veers in a revolutionary direction with profound lyrics on the mellow and resonant Stand Firm Riddim which set the tone of the essence of a New Day.
From the ingenious minds of Redstate Productions’ music prodigies, comes a tune which speaks to an existence where brothers and sisters of society come together and reinforce the meaning of solidarity. In the verses, Sizzla expresses his knowledge of the abhorrent state that Jamaica’s society is in and the obstacles that life may send our way. However, he appeals to Jamaicans to stay determined and persevere. Moreover, the hook then intertwines and interweaves these galvanizing messages and emphasizes a necessary upliftment of one another.
Sizzla has presented thought provoking issues that we cannot merely dismiss. We must be proactive in a unification as a people because tomorrow is no more and so, today, we must hit the ground running. So, wake up Jamaica, it’s A New Day!
What do you call a beautiful young 16 year-old woman who has a 4.0 grade point average, and is a rapper/singer/songwriter/actress/model of Zimbabwean heritage from London, England?
Answer: King Tatie, of course.
Her legal name is Tatiana Chipondaminga, but she likes King Tatie because it sounds nice and it’s much easier to pronounce.
King Tatie is one of those special people who have been blessed with multiple talents and the discipline and wisdom to develop them. She was aware of her artistic leanings at an early age and her parents got professional training for her. She performed in competitions, talent shows and school productions when she was young and then decided that if she really wanted to get serious about any type of musical career she needed to go to Los Angeles, which she did.
She was invited to participate in The World Championships of Performing Arts in Los Angeles and out of 70,000 contestants from 47 countries, King Tatie took home five medals for excellence in music, acting and modeling. Soon after that, she produced her first single and went on a promotional tour, which brought her to Zimbabwe. Her performance there astonished the audience and she was asked to do several commercials and interviews on radio and TV.
After the initial tour, King Tatie embarked on her first world tour in 2014. She performed in the U.S with Souljia Boy and then went on to Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Dubai, Ireland, where she played at the YouBloom Music Festival and then went to her Home country of England, where she was welcomed with smiling faces and standing ovations at the Southburgh Music Festival.
Besides music and singing/ songwriting, King Tatie has a few other interests. She loves school and is an ‘A’ student. She has won awards for Outstanding Academic Achievement as well as awards for music and drama. She also wants other kids to like school, so she makes a point of performing at schools and talking to the kids about how important it is to stay in school. King Tatie doesn’t see why you can’t have good grades and a successful career at the same time. She feels that everything, including your dreams – can come true if you work hard enough.
