Vybz Kartel aka WorlBoss, Jamaica’s most controversial artiste who turned 39 on january 7th and is currently serving life imprisonment for murder was recently nominated for five Youth View Awards (YVA).
The categories for which the dancehall entertainer was nominated are:
1. Favourite Local Chart Topping Song
2. Favourite Local Artiste of the Year
3. Favourite Dancehall Artiste
4. Hottest Summer Song of the Year “Miami Vice”
5. Favourite Musical Collaboration
The YVA are promoted by the company An Elegant Affair and nominations are mainly based on Internet page views and responses via social media.
Kartel, whose real name is Adidja Palmer, was sentenced on April 3, 2014 for the August 16, 2011 murder of Clive ‘Lizard’ Williams.
