St. Kitts drama with Spice, Pamputtae & Vannessa Bling
Dancehall female artistes Pamputtae, Vawnessa Bling and Spice have blasted a mischevious website for publishing an article, which misled viewers to think they ran into trouble with the law in St Kitts on the weekend.
The artistes, who recently returned to the island after performing in St Kitts, told The STAR that two men, one said to be a member of Macka Diamond’s entourage, were apprehended by the police in St Kitts for stealing a computer. However, instead of telling the truth, the blog decided to publish their photos in an attempt to create controversy and get online views.
Certain joke
A rather upset Spice, who mostly travels with her fiancé, took her quarrell straight to the blogger.
“I guess you are gonna block me after this, but why don’t you get your story straight before selling it to people? And why do you have up my picture with this story, may I ask? I don’t run certain joke. So please take down my picture and get your story straight, and put up the picture of the person who stole the computer or the artiste who brought those men over there because I don’t even know them,” Spice posted on the blog page.
An equally upset Vawnessa Bling also chastised the bad press and vouched for her management team.
“I believe in God and I trust him and put him first. I can vouch for every member of my team, there were a lot of female artistes in St Kitts and each of us had our own team members, therefore, I ask that you check your facts before pointing fingers. I am currently in the US doing my other shows and my entire team is home safely,” Vawnessa Bling told The STAR.
Pamputtae also contacted The STAR separately. She says she does not tolerate persons who steal.
“Mi see the picture weh dem put up and mi waah that fixed up. Yu see my lane, nuh truck nuh inna my lane suh mi stay inna mi lane. Mi nuh red eye enuh, and yu see that stealing thing deh, a nuh my style dat, yu zimi. Dem have it twisted,” she said.
Wrong place
When contacted by The STAR, Macka Diamond did not want to divulge much information stating that she was sleeping at the time of the incident. She, however, said it was a case of being at the wrong place at the wrong time.
“I don’t have a clue what is going on, I was the last to leave the hotel because I was sleeping. I am just working off hearsay right now, but I cant say much because I havn’t received the real details as yet. One person is my road manager, but it wasn’t him as far as I know,” she said.
This is the second time an entourage member has stolen an item while on tour with a local artiste, Bounty Killer’s entourge member/brother was jailed overseas recently after he stole a cell phone.

The White House Responds To Kanye West"s Bid for Presidency
In a night filled with head scratching twists, turns and “jokes,” the biggest thing we took away from the MTV’s 2015 Video Music Awards was Kanye West’s rousing award acceptance speech that turned into his official bid for presidency in 2020. With the presidential race for 2016 heating up faster than Donald Trump’s hair on a warm day, West could potentially have a chance, especially considering his hold on the youth, bro.
The White House seems to be open to him throwing his hat in the race in five years, and White House press secretary Josh Earnest released today a statement saying that they are looking “forward to seeing what slogan he chooses to embroider on his campaign hat.” which may or may not be a dig at Trump’s campaign slogan. Who knew the Oval Office was good at throwing shade? Stay tuned as Kanye’s presidential race makes more strides to reality.

Munga says "Postpone all funeral and nine-night"
The Bad From Mi Born singer, real name Damian Rhoden, had a hearty laugh with THE STAR news team regarding the death rumours.
“It was a hilarious day fi me! social media pronounced me dead! Me all get time and place of deceased. Bwoy it bad, but wha me can say is that’s promo you can’t pay for. So, we ago ride it like a scooter, ride it like a surf board, ride it like a big bike, we just ago ride it,” says Munga.
Individual approached
According to the Flippin Rhymes hitmaker, he was sitting with his back turned to the road in his community, Jackson Town, St Andrew, ‘chilling’ and working on a mix tape with friends when an individual approached from behind and chopped him on his shoulder. He said he was rushed to a doctor.
The St Mary-born singer admitted he didn’t see his attacker, but his friends claimed it was a man with whom Munga said he has no beef.
“We nuh have no altercation, no problems. Apparently, dem say him head nah function properly. That is the only explanation me have right now. Him musically inclined, but a weh you say now? Music a mad him?,” the singer joked.
Despite the gaping wound inflicted on his shoulder, the I Came To Take My Place singer said he will not retaliate, but is pursuing a positive approach.
“My mom says light over darkness. Me close brethren send me a message with my favourite song that I wrote tattooed on his chest as an inspiration to me, and him say, ‘don’t fight fire with fire, don’t fight darkness with darkness,’ so revenge is not my forte. Me nah encourage none a me fans or anyone to seek revenge. Positive movements,” he said.
bad situation
Although the artiste is unsure of how his wound will affect his performance, he is determined to make the best of a bad situation.
“It’s so ironical that the CD I was working on at the time contains 34 songs, and I got 34 stitches, while making it so me ago mek something inaugural outa this! My PR has suggested I do another prayer and this looks like the opportune moment so let’s do it!.’ the artiste beamed.
In addition, the Not At All singer said fans should check out his Extended Play (EP) entitled ‘Excuse Me’ and his new single, Push Dem Outa My Way. He also noted that he will soon be signed to Justus Harrison’s Ja Records.
As for those who have questioned whether the artiste can rightfully claim to be a ‘Gangsta Ras’ following his ordeal, Munga said: “The son of Karen Hamilton is himself and will always be Damian Rhoden, Munga Honourable, Gangsta Ras”.

Spice blasted by Social Media
dancehall fremale artiste Spice is currently under sharp criticism via social media after her conduct at one of her recent performances in Westmoreland, Jamaica.
The deejay was captured on video urging a boy to dance suggestively with a female patron at the event.
In the video, Spice — whose given name is Grace Hamilton — and other adults in the audience were seen encouraging a young boy to gyrate behind a skimpily clad female as she performed her hit single So Mi Like it. The child is said to be an up-and-coming act called DJ Ingredient.
Among the views expressed online were that of Lisa who said:
“That’s so distasteful. Come on, Spice! You are a mom and a great mom, so what is this?”
“Would she let her son do this? If he grows up and becomes a rapist, womaniser or sexual abuser, who is to be blamed? It would be those who expose him to such behaviour at such early age. Stop it before it starts, even if its not yours, you all have a responsibility. Our society is really losing morals and values. Dancehall gone,” she said.
Other viewers also questioned the whereabouts of the youngster’s parents and the party promoter.
Efforts by the Jamaica Observer to get a comment from Spice proved futile.

Kanye West Announces Bid For Presidency At VMAs
Watch out Clinton and Trump. Kanye West has his eye on the White House. The rapper announced his candidacy for the next President of the United States at Sunday’s MTV Video Music Awards.
While accepting the Video Vanguard Award from Taylor Swift, West reflected on snatching the mic from Swift’s hand six years ago. He also called out MTV for using him and Swift as a ploy to boost ratings.
But the biggest shocker of his nearly 13-minute speech came at the end when he announced that he’s running for president.
“And yes, as you probably could have guessed by this moment, I have decided in 2020 to run for president,” he said before dropping the mic and walking off stage to hugs from Kim Kardashian and Swift.

Jamaica, The Gods of 400X100m Relays
Jamaica capped a memorable World Championship by winning its sixth gold medal on Saturday as the 4x100m relay team finished ahead of the field. Fierce rivals the United States were disqualified.
Bolt ran the final leg of the relay at a packed Bird’s Nest stadium, hurtling through the line in 37.36 seconds after teammates Nesta Carter, Asafa Powell and Nickel Ashmeade had successfully got the baton around.
The US quartet of 100m bronze and silver medallists Trayvon Bromell and Justin Gatlin, and fellow finalists Tyson Gay and Mike Rodgers were initially awarded silver but later disqualified.
China, headed by individual 100m finalist Bingtian Su, delighted the home crowd when they were upgraded to a shock silver in 38.01sec while Canada were awarded bronze (38.13).
Meanwhile, double Olympic champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce anchored Jamaica to their second successive world title in the women’s 4×100 metres on Saturday.
Fraser-Pryce, who won the 100 metres individual title in Beijing, left Jasmine Todd in her wake as the Jamaican quartet overpowered Olympic champions the United States to clock a championship best 41.07 seconds. The Americans took silver in 41.68.
Jamaica led from the gun, Veronica Campbell-Brown producing a blistering start, which Natasha Morrison built on in the second leg passing to Elaine Thompson with Fraser-Pryce adding the final flourish to bring the baton home in style.

Today The streets of Jamaica are pictures of black, green and gold this morning following the country’s victory in the 4x100m relays.
The women sped to victory and stopped the clock in 41.07, a championship record and the second fastest time in history.
Jamaica bettered their own Championship Record of 41.29 seconds set in the 2013 Moscow IAAF World Championship.
But the women were not alone in their push to have the country’s anthem played again in Beijing.
The male quartet also sped to golden greatness in a world leading time of 37.36 seconds. This has allowed Jamaica to continue their dominance of the relays at the highest level.
Despite the fact that their main contender had four men who were also individual 100m finalists, the Jamaicans were not fazed.
“We do all things through God. We were very confident,” said Asafa Powell in a post relay interview.
The US team that was anchored by Mike Rodgers initially placed second but was later disqualified after a review showed Rodgers running outside of the prescribed 20m mark.
“We knew we were gonna win, they (USA) were too serious,” said Bolt.
“Pressure buss pipe,” an excited Powell added.

Jamaicans want a Bolt statue
A petition has been launched on social media platform, Facebook, by fans of track star Usain Bolt who want the popular Emancipation Park, located in New Kingston, to be renamed in the athlete’s honour.
The petition suggests that the park should be called Usain Bolt Park and petitioners argue that the naked statues there should be removed and replaced with Bolt’s image.
Bolt’s victories at the ongoing World Championships in Beijing are definitely the most talked about globally. However, many Jamaicans did not support the suggestion of the name change. What was intended to draw attention to Bolt’s accomplishments, quickly became an online tug of war between fans of Bolt and other Jamaicans who felt that Emancipation Park is a national landmark and should remain as such.
One Facebook user, Chellito, was of the view that renaming the park in Bolt’s honour would be a blatant act of disrespect.
“Who the f… is Usain Bolt to rename our beloved Emancipation Park in honour of him? The word emancipation exemplified our history, where we were to where we are now, a symbol of pride and struggle. Usain has done well and kudos to him, but I can bet my bottom dollar that Usain himself would find this renaming phenomenon quite disrespectful to national pride,” he posted.
However, he was swiftly corrected by Wayne Boothe, who believes Jamaica is not yet emancipated and Bolt should be bestowed with the honour.
Downward spiral
“What does Emancipation Park symbolise? To highlight the freedom of black people in Jamaica. We are still trapped in a perpetual downward spiral characterised by brutality by agents of the state (the police), highest murder rate in the Caribbean, the highest levels of poverty, second only to Haiti, deplorable health-care system, very high unemployment rate, lack of ambulance service for every single citizen, trillions of dollars in debt to the World Bank and IMF, never ending long lines at the US Embassy because people are trying to escape this land of emancipation,” he posted.
The debate continued with some persons even suggesting that if Bolt deserved such an honour, so did other local athletes.
“My take is them never build a park for Asafa and Veronica nor the others. So why for Usain? That would be a waste of money because the roads want fixing and water wanted. Yes, we salute them, but build a road or something that cost less,” Manning posted.
The petition was shared 1,517 times since Bolt defeated drug cheat Justin Gatlin in the 200 metres at the World Championships in Beijing, China, yesterday.

Beenie Man"s B-Day bash a success
Beenie Man couldn’t have wished for a better birthday bash than Tuesday’s staging of Dweet Again: Part 4, held at Port Royal Street, Kingston.
The event, once again, drew a large crowd, similar to that of the last staging, and had support from several music-industry players.
Beenie Man’s birthday bash evoked memories of the 90′s dancehall scene, when sound systems and hard-hitting dancehall ruled Jamaican music.
Promoted as the ‘Unity Edition’, Beenie Man got rival sound systems – Boom Boom and Harry Hype, Stone Love and Fire Links – to play together, sharing the same equipment.
Each sound system brought their own flavour to the event, and patrons left feeling satisfied with a balanced selection of music.
Stone Love played music from legends such as Bob Marley, Peter Tosh and Dennis Brown, while Fire Links played for the ladies, drawing for ’90s dancehall selections.
Boom Boom got the audience dancing with a set comprised of new-era dancehall music.
Known to pay attention to his image, Beenie Man changed twice for the night. On both occasions, he captured the attention of videographers and photographers.
Dweet Again Part 4 was attended by artistes and dancers such as Danielle D.I., Bounty Killer, Johnny Osborne, Winston ‘Niney’ Holness, Iyara, Bling Dawg, Keiva, Shakespeare, New Kidz, Ghost, Admiral Bailey, and Aji.

Vanessa Bling and Tiana allegedly in feud over Kranium
Popular selector Boom Boom recently had tongues wagging at Uptown Mondays when suggested that female dancehall artistes Tiana and Vanessa Bling (Gaza Slim) were embroiled in a feud for the love of ‘Nobody Has To Know’ singer, Kranium.
In a video which went viral on social media, the award-winning selector can be heard saying, “Kranium deh wid Gaza Slim and Kranium deh wid Tiana, a deh so the mix-up deh yuh hear. Kranium yuh have the two female dem a war over yuh.”
Recently, Vanessa Bling recorded Future Guaranteed, while Tiana did a counteraction called No Future Guaranteed. Both songs have gone over 60,000 views on YouTube since the ongoing controversy.
NO FUTURE
When contacted, Tiana told THE STAR that she released the counteraction because Vanessa Bling is bragging about a man that is unfaithful.
“There are certain things that have to be left unsaid, but it is a counteraction to Gaza Slim because no future is guaranteed with a man that has cheated on you. Because once he has cheated on you, that means that you cannot hold your man and there are other things out there that has his attention,” she said.
When asked about Boom Boom’s allegations, Tiana did not refute. She also said she and Vanessa Bling are no longer on speaking terms.
“We are not speaking and you can read between the lines of the song because the counteraction says it all. As it relates to Boom Boom’s comments, people have their own opinion and are free to express themselves. My point is that you cannot be bragging about a man that is constantly cheating,” Tiana said..
THE STAR also spoke with Vanessa Bling’s camp. Her road manager, Kamar Tarnell, told THE STAR that Vanessa Bling is ignorant to Tiana’s existence in the music industry.
“Wi nuh know nobody name suh. Who name Tiana? We only know about Vanessa Bling song Future Guaranteed and she was talking about relationships in general,” he said.
In recent times, allegations have been swirling in the music industry that Vanessa Bling and Kranium are romantically involved. The two were recently spotted together in the United States and are also promoting a collaborative love song called Notice You.
Tiana has developed a strong following in Europe where she frequently tours. She is also promoting new singles No Worries and Balance Pon Yuh Head.
